About Me

I am a broad-minded, deeply analytical person with a natural talent for understanding the thoughts and motivations of people around me. For as long as I can remember I have attentively analysed “what makes people tick” and subjected myself, and my world to close scrutiny in the pursuit of self-awareness. I have a life-long love of philosophy and psychology.

I passionately celebrate human diversity; diversity of personality, perspective, culture, gender, sexuality, spirituality. I have a deep and genuine liking for all people. Everyone is doing the very best with what they have and everyone wants to be liked, accepted, appreciated and understood. We are all a mixture of natural personality traits combined with learned habitual thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

I don’t believe there is only one objective truth for the way things are. When I sit down with my client I am able to suspend my beliefs, and have my client teach me how they see the world. I set out to provide empathy for your experience and respect for the unique individual that you are.

I believe that my success in helping people stems predominantly from my ability to feel (and convey) understanding and acceptance of the people who consult me. Because of my nature I am able to quickly build nurturing, respectful and trustful one-to-one relationships with people.

My counselling work is supported with a committed mindfulness practice, regular meditation and a comprehensive grounding in the Alexander Technique.

My therapeutic skill can give people back the free will to choose helpful and supportive thoughts, feelings and behaviours through a greater self-awareness and personal effectiveness.

I attend regular clinical supervision and continue to study in order to support and improve my practice.
